On Tuesday, October 17th join us for Savoring Rhode Island, a culinary excursion to Federal Hill. Learn the history of Federal Hill, meet the chefs of the local eateries and get exclusive behind the scenes tours and samples from participating venues. Federal Hill has been the center of business and culture for Providence's Italian population since the late 1800's. The Hill features numerous restaurants and shops, recognized as among the finest Rhode Island has to offer. Our tour visits traditional and modern bakeries, the wine shop that brought Italian wines and spirits to New England, butchers and poultry markets, and specialty food markets. Limited to 14 guests.
On Wednesday, October 18th come for a tour of the RISD Museum of Art. The RISD Museum acquires, preserves, exhibits, and interprets works of art and design representing diverse cultures from ancient times to the present. Distinguished by its relationship to the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), the Museum educates and inspires artists, designers, students, scholars, and the general public through exhibitions, programs, and publications. The Museum’s collection includes about 100,000 objects of art and design in 7 departments; Ancient, Asian, Contemporary, Costume and Textiles, decorative arts and Design, Painting and Sculpture, Prints Drawings & Photographs. A guided tour will be offered starting at 11:00am, lunch to follow at Parkside Rotisserie & Bar.
